The ‘Would You Rather’ Tag

Rules:the-would-you-rather-tag

  • Thank and tag the person that has tagged you.
  • Attach the tag photo.
  • Answer the ‘Would You Rather’ questions.
  • Tag a handful of friends.

Thanks MyMindSpeaksAloud. I decided to do it from her.

1.) Would you rather have all dogs try to attack you when they see you or allS birds try to attack you when they see you?

  • All birds try to attack me. Simple solution: Metal umbrella. Don’t wrong me, birdies. :))

2.) Would you rather be unable to move your body every time it rains or not be able to stop moving while the sun is out?

  • Not be able to stop moving while the sun is out. I get sleep paralysis occasionally and it is terrifying as hell, so if I was paralysed every time it rained (in ENGLAND!!)  it wouldn’t be very nice. Besides, I need to get out more anyway, and the sun is out less than it rains in the UK.

3.) Would you rather spend the rest of your life with a sailboat as your home or an RV as your home?

  • Tough one. I think I’d go with RV because I could travel everywhere on the roads. Besides, you can drive your vehicles onto ships so I could travel across oceans as well.

4.) Would you rather walk around work or school for the whole day without realizing there is a giant brown stain on the back of your pants or realize the deadline for that important paper / project was yesterday and you are nowhere near done?

  • The deadline one. I once accidentally stepped into a flooded underground and had to run home in soaking wet trousers, with judging glares, and that was for a few minutes. Besides, I could just say my dog ate my work. He probably did, knowing him.

5.) Would you rather eat a sandwich made from 4 ingredients in your fridge chosen at random or eat a sandwich made by a group of your friends from 4 ingredients in your fridge?

  • Definitely the friend one because, if it were random ingredients in my fridge, I would probably have to eat non-vegan items and I couldn’t deal with that. My friends would be nice enough to give me vegan items, even if they were weird ones.

6.) Would you rather have plants grow at 10 times their normal rate when you are near or for people and animals to stop aging when you are near them?

  • I would love for plants to bloom before my eyes. That’d be magical. I’d go outside more. Besides, if people found out about the aging ability, they’d be lining up outside my door and it’d be awkward. So the plant one, for sure.

7.) Would you rather have chapped lips that never heal or a terrible dandruff that can’t be treated?

  • Wait; if I chose chapped lips, would it get rid of my existing dandruff? If so, for sure.

8.) Would you rather have out of control body hair or out of control body odor?

  • Out of control body odor. I’d just put on tons of deodorant and perfume. I don’t want to look like a gorilla. Besides, if I always smelled bad, people close to me would stop smelling it eventually.

9.) Would you rather know all the mysteries of the universe or know every outcome of every choice you make?

  • To be honest, I’d consider both a curse. To know everything is to me all-knowing and that much power is never good. Also, we’re naturally curious, so when there’s nothing left to find out, what would I do? On the other hand, I don’t think I could deal with the grief of knowing every outcome of every choice I make. To think I could have caused awful things to happen without even knowing it… yeah, I think I’ll have to go with knowing everything. Besides, I could earn money off it.

10.) Would you rather never be able to wear pants or never be able to wear shorts?

  • Never be able to wear shorts. I usually wear trousers so would not be able to not wear them.

11.) Would you rather only wear one color each day or have to wear seven colors each day?

  • Only one colour each day. I pretty much do that anyway. I wouldn’t mind just wearing greyscale, because technically that’s just different shades of the same colour, and also my everyday attire.

12.) Would you rather eat rice with every meal or eat bread with every meal?

  • Bread for sure. It goes with everything.

13.) Would you rather have no eyebrows or only one eyebrow?

  • No eyebrows. I could draw them on.

14.) Would you rather your only mode of transportation be a donkey or a giraffe?

  • I’d go with donkey because I’m not sure how I’d get down from the giraffe.

15.) Would you rather live in a cave or live in a tree house?

  • I already live in a cave… haha. So probably tree house. It’d be fun. I’ve never been in one and it’d be cool.

16.) Would you rather never sweat again or never feel cold again?

  • If I never felt cold again, I wouldn’t even be able to use my cold hands to cool me down when I was too hot. I feel cold all the time but to never feel even the slightest bit cold? That’s inhuman. So definitely never sweat again. It’d be so convenient.

17.) Would you rather never have to clean a bathroom again or never have to do dishes again?

  • I’ve never had to clean a bathroom before, so I’d go with never have to do dishes again. Then I’d never have to do either.

18.) Would you rather move to a new city or town every week or never be able to leave the city or town you were born in?

  • I hate change, so I’d say stay in town I was born in.

19.) Would you rather live a comfortable and peaceful life in the woods in a small cabin or a life full of conflict in a mansion in a city?

  • Definitely in the woods. That is literally my dream life.

20.) Would you rather be in debt for $100,000 or never be able to make more than $3,500 a month?

  • Never be able to make more than (calculates that into pounds) £2497.69 because that’s a lot more than I make now and I doubt I’ll ever make more than that anyway.

21.) Would you rather be the best in the world at climbing trees or the best in the world at jumping rope?

  • Climbing trees. Imagine it: monkey girl. 😉

22.) Would you rather never run out of battery power for whatever phone and tablet you own or always have free Wi-Fi wherever you go?

  • To be honest, free Wi-Fi is pretty easy to find. I’d go for never run out of battery power, that’d be amazing.

23.) Would you rather 20 butterflies instantly appear from nowhere every time you cough or 100 butterflies die somewhere in the world every time you cough?

  • Um… I’m sorry, but who would choose for the butterflies to die? I don’t care if I have a house full of butterflies. I’d rather that than the alternative, for sure.

24.) Would you rather never be stuck in traffic again or never get another cold?

  • Never get another cold. I get colds really easily so that’d be a miracle cure.

25.) Would you rather know the uncomfortable truth of the world or believe a comforting lie?

  • To be honest, I think I already know the uncomfortable truth. Humans are destroying the world. There’s not much more to it… so I guess that’s my answer. I would hate to be blinded.

26.) Would you rather every shirt you ever wear to be kind of itchy or only be able to use 1 ply toilet paper?

  • Only be able to use 1 ply toilet paper. I’m super sensitive to everything, including itchy material, so it wouldn’t just be kind of itchy for me. It would be torture.

27.) Would you rather have no fingers or no elbows?

  • No fingers, because how could you even use your fingers with no elbows? It’d be so awkward!

28.) Would you rather have all traffic lights you approach be green or never have to stand in line again?

  • Never have to stand in line again. That’d be so useful.

29.) Would you rather have a flying carpet or a car that can drive underwater?

  • A flying carpet! I could fly everywhere and it’d be so fast. Driving underwater would be kinda slow, because of the constant force against you.

30.) Would you rather find five dollars on the ground or find all of your missing socks?

  • To be honest, all my lost socks are probably from my childhood so would not fit my adult feet. Definitely find a fiver.

31.) Would you rather live on the beach or in a cabin in the woods?

  • A cabin in the woods!! I already live near the beach, and just living near it gives a lot of wind. If I lived on it, my hair would go crazy.

32.) Would you rather lose your left hand or right foot?

  • Right food, definitely. I need two hands. They do so much for me. I could cope with a prosthetic foot.

33.) Would you rather face your fears or forget that you have them?

  • Both would accomplish the same thing, right? You’d get over your fears either way. But I would say that forgetting your fears is so dangerous because you could get yourself into dangerous situations without knowing it. So I’d face them, as hard as it is.

34.) Would you rather snitch on your best friend for a crime they committed or go to jail for the crime they committed?

  • The truth would eat at me if I lied. And I can’t be away from my family for a day, let alone several months or years. I would have to tell the truth and hope they understood.

35.) Would you rather eat a box of dry spaghetti noodles or a cup of uncooked rice?

  • The spaghetti noodles. More texture?

36.) Would you rather humans go to the moon again or go to mars?

  • I disagree with us visiting other planets because eventually we might get greedy with them, if we learnt how to live on them. I don’t want us doing to those planets what has been done to this one. So the moon again.

37.) Would you rather never get angry or never be envious?

  • Never be envious. I would love to never have to think about what other people have that I don’t have.

38.) Would you rather be able to go to any theme park in the world for free for the rest of your life or eat for free at any drive through restaurant for the rest of your life?

  • Eat for free, for sure. I’d save a lot more money than theme parks, considering they’re more common.

39.) Would you rather never lose your phone again or never lose your keys again?

  • Never lose my phone again. Then, I can call my mum and ask her to let me in. If I lost my phone, but not my keys, imagine if I was lost. I wouldn’t be able to phone anyone… it’d be terrifying, and my keys would be useless.

40.) Would you rather lose the ability to read or lose the ability to speak?

  • Lose the ability to speak. I could learn sign language.

41.) Would you rather live under a sky with no stars at night or live under a sky with no clouds during the day?

  • Sky with no stars, because I already live with that, due to pollution. Clouds are nice.

42.) Would you rather have constantly dry eyes or a constant runny nose?

  • Dry eyes.

43.) Would you rather never be able to eat meat or never be able to eat vegetables?

  • So, this question is being asked to a vegan. How ironic. I already do the ‘never eat meat again’ one so this isn’t really a question for me. Lol. I’m alive. I know. Shocking, right?

44.) Would you rather always be able to see 5 minutes into the future or always be able to see 100 years into the future?

  • Five minutes into future. I could stop bad things from happening. Also, I’m terrified to know the distant future because we might be even worse than we are now. I hope not.

45.) Would you rather be married to a 10 with a bad personality or a 6 with an amazing personality?

  • I would say neither, but I’m going with the rule that we should answer all. So 6 with amazing personality. He’d be my 10.

46.) Would you rather never be able to drink sodas like coke again or only be able to drink sodas and nothing else?

  • Never be able to drink sodas like coke again. I don’t drink them anyway.

47.) Would you rather have amazingly fast typing / texting speed or be able to read ridiculously fast?

  • I already type extremely fast so I’d go with reading ridiculously fast. I could finish books so much quicker… it’d be great.

48.) Would you rather sell all of your possessions or sell one of your organs?

  • Sell one of my organs. On the black market. For a million pounds. Someone would buy it.

49.) Would you rather never have to work again or never have to sleep again (you won’t feel tired or suffer negative health effects)?

  • I suffer with extreme fatigue so to never have to sleep again would be absolutely amazing. To never feel tired again would change my life.

50.) Would you rather get one free round trip international plane ticket every year or be able to fly domestic anytime for free?

  • Be able to fly one free round trip international plane ticket every year. I live in the UK, I wouldn’t be able to go many places domestic.

Awesome Blogger Award

I was nominated by MyMindSpeaksAloud

And now, here are the rules for the award:

  • Thank the person who nominated you
  • Tag it under #awesomebloggeraward in the Reader.
  • Answer the questions your nominator gave you.
  • Nominate at least five awesome bloggers.
  • Give your nominees ten new questions to answer.
  • Let your nominees know that they’ve been nominated.
  • If you could go back in time and change a memory without it influencing the present, what would you change and why?
I would make it so that I stood up, just once, to the people who weren’t very nice.

  • If you could pick a person/pet to join your family who would you pick?
I would pick MyMindSpeaksAloud because then I’d have someone in my family that actually shares my interests. 😉 Or I’d pick Amy Lee, because who doesn’t want to have the lead singer of an awesome band in your family?

  • What’s your favourite thing to do at night?
Talk to my friends over in different countries. I’d really love to go to Finland or Germany one day. Hehe.

  • What’s your most invaluable yet valuable possession? (something that is physically not worth much, but means a lot to you)
Diego and Smiler. We got them both for free sooo… Diego was given to us by a friend and Smiler moved in to our home. Also, Smiler is old and silly, so that makes his worth about -£10 a week. He literally takes money from us. What is he doing here?
  • What weather do you hate the most? Now write a short creative piece – whatever words come to mind.
I hate it when the sky opens its doors, and the clouds flee, and all that you see is the sky’s light bulb. Don’t get me wrong: a small dosage is nice, but it’s when the earth becomes cracked and the birds start to salivate. It’s when your lips don’t remember what moisture is, and it’s when your eyes could fall asleep just anywhere. It’s when you can’t hide inside because “it’s such a nice day!” but you want to. It’s when you’re forced into its direct path, and you have to endure it. Unlike with rain, or with wind, you can’t shelter from this. You have to go through it, whether you like it or not, until your heart slows, and your skin burns, but it’s Summer, so you better go enjoy it.

  • What’s the most thought-provoking film you’ve watched?
I quite found ‘Before I fall’ thought-provoking. Like, is that what’s going to happen to me when I die? I don’t want to die like that.

  • What do you fear the most in the approaching months?
I guess at the moment my mum’s surgery, but that should be okay, but she usually gets an infection afterwards which worries me so I hope it goes okay.

  • What are you most proud of that you’ve accomplished within the last year?
I completed my A-Levels, even though I was suffering with mental health issues whilst taking them. It was really hard and I had to stop going to college, but I still completed it and got a good grade.

  • If you could only call one person before you died, who would you call and what would you say?
I would call my mum, because she always reassures me that stuff is going to be okay, even if it isn’t going to be.

  • Sit back from the computer for a second. What is your thought process? Write it down however crazy it may seem.
Who is this person and why is she forcing me to sit back from my computer? Who does she think she is? I am not taking this anymore! Oh wait, I just sat back from my computer… This mind-controlling witch! :O

Thanks for reading. I nominate all of my followers, and ask them the following questions:

    1. Define life.
    2. If you could be any fictional character, who would it be and why?
    3. Do you believe that there is life outside of Earth?
    4. If you were to be one of three surviving people on the Earth, everyone else was dead, and you could pick who the other two were, but they weren’t allowed to be related to you, who would they be?
    5. What job would you absolutely hate to have?
    6. Which insect has the most fun?
    7. If you were involved in a public robbery, would you be: a) the robber, b) the victim who did exactly as they said, or c) the hero who caught them.
    8. How would you react to one day waking up and discovering that your entire life was a dream?
    9. Have you ever been pranked/played a prank on someone? What happened, if so?
    10. Best-sounding musical instrument?

    Thanks for reading,

20 Questions About Me Tag

Thanks to ANewChapter for nominating me. 🙂

Are you named after anyone?

I think I was named after Lia Williams. They liked the name so took it.

When was the last time you cried?

Some days ago. Sometimes I have these meltdowns over silly things, I have had a few recently haha.

Do you have kids?

Yes, they are called Diego, Pablo, and Smiler.

If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself?

No, because hardly anyone wants to be friends with me, so I don’t think I would be any different. xD

Do you use sarcasm a lot?

Yes but generally in the way that people will not be able to tell I’m using it so I can actually not like what they’re doing but pretend I do. So you will never know the truth… 😉

What’s the first thing you notice about people?

Age, because you’re hardly going to not notice that a toddler and an elderly person are different ages.

What is your eye colour?

Blue.

Scary movie or happy ending?

Happy endings happen wayyy too often so they get kinda boring, but I don’t have anyone who likes watching scary movies with me so I can’t watch that either, but I want to. 😦

Do you have any special talents?

uhh I fail more than the average human, does that count? Hehe.

Do you have any pets?

Yes, I also mentioned them in the children part of this post. They are Diego, Pablo, and Smiler.

What is your dream career?

Writer/philosopher.

Who was your first best friend?

Her name was Holly, I went to her house quite often, we were close. Then she made a friend that she preferred so rip friendship. xD She’s now super popular.

How tall are you?

Last time I checked, I was 5’3.5 and I’ve pretty much stopped growing so I doubt I’ll get much more than that.

How many countries have you visited?

Wales (x1), France (x2), Portugal (x1), Spain (x1). I absolutely loved Portugal, except for the day when I got heat stroke and had an intense migraine; but it was still awesome. France was cool too, the time I was with my family especially. I’d love to return to either of them. I’ve never been outside of Europe though. It would be a really cool thing if one day I can leave it. Haha.

What was/is your favourite/worst subject in High School?

My favourite was probably English. I just loved the subject. And I was also sat next to ANewChapter for most of it and that was fun. My least favourite subject was probably physics; not because I was bad at it, or because I didn’t like it that much — it was to do with the teacher! We had this lady from the Czech Republic who could not teach. My chemistry teacher kept telling us “but she has a physics degree!” — did she have a teaching degree, though? No. They were desperate for a teacher so they got her, I think. She could not teach at all. There were two pupils in our class who always misbehaved in every class so it was usual of them to, though one of them actually walked out in her class because she was such a bad teacher. After seeing those two pupils misbehave, she decided our entire class was awful, and refused to teach us anymore. We then got the same teacher as chemistry for the rest of the time. My chemistry teacher might have scared me a lot, but at least she could teach. She was very angry with our class though, and didn’t think to see it from our point of view. I actually ended up getting the higher grade in physics than biology or chemistry, in the second science GCSE. In the first science GCSE, I got a higher grade in biology. I was never good at chemistry, and never liked it either. Haha. Also, my biology teacher was kinda creepy…

What is your favourite perfume?

I don’t wear perfume. I hate it when people spray it publicly because usually it is quite strong and I end up coughing a lot. At least go do it in a toilet cubicle, so that I don’t die. Thanks.

What would you name your children?

Child A and Child B. Just kidding, I haven’t really thought about it. Nice names, though.

What sports do you play/have you played?

When I was really young, I was in a football club run by professional footballers. There was one other girl in the club; the rest were boys. I did like football for a while but then, when my confidence got knocked with bullying, I stopped doing it.

What phone do you currently use?

None. My phone is slow as heck so I stopped using it. I hope to get a new one by Christmas.

Tell us one of your bad habits!

I have a lot of bad habits. Automatically assuming the worst, procrastinating, being me, dahdah…

My nominations:

Everyone who follows me who hasn’t already done it. Go do it!

The Liebster Award

I’ve done this quite a few times before but, the fact is, it’s completely different every time, so I still do it. Thank you to ANewChapter for the nomination.

Rules:

  1. Acknowledge the blog that nominated you and display the award
  2. Give 11 random facts about yourself
  3. Nominate 11 blogs
  4. Notify them of the nomination
  5. Give 11 questions to the nominees

11 Random Facts

  1. I am one of two. I have an older brother and we’re really close in age; he’s twelve months and twenty-four days older than me. Before he had his thing where he got really tall and I stayed small (he’s a foot taller than me -_-), people thought we were twins! I also used to wear his hand-me-downs and got mistaken for a boy, before it was obvious I was a girl. He’s also very annoying, but at the end of the day, a good person. I love him, even if he is the smarter/more confident/funnier sibling. Haha.
  2. I got a B in my creative writing a-level. This is a new one. No one knows this, except my family and whoever they blabbered to. I had gotten an A in my AS but the exams weren’t as easy as the coursework, so I got a B overall. It’s fine though, I guess.
  3. I used to enter writing competitions a lot, and won a lot too. In my younger years (I sound so old), I was always entering competitions with my writing, and sometimes I’d end up winning, or coming second, or third. I didn’t always win, but it did help my confidence when I did win. I’ve been wondering about entering competitions recently, but then backed out. I guess I don’t have the strength I used to have.
  4. I cannot have the door wide open. My bedroom door has to be shut completely, and other doors have to be pushed ajar. I can’t have the door open; it makes me feel weird.
  5. I don’t drink out of glasses, except when I’m out. At home, I have to drink out of mugs. I think it’s easier to see the dirt in mugs, which is why, whereas with glasses, you don’t know what dirt could be lurking there… I have glasses when I’m out though, because I use a straw, and also because they’re fancy. xD
  6. There are currently penguins dangling above me. In an effort to make our house look nicer, so that we can sell it, my mum hung some penguins above me. I don’t really know how it affects the house, but eh.
  7. We’re trying to move house. We want to move to this nearby town called Lancing, and we want to buy a bungalow. Basically, we’re down-sizing, but my dad’s being really weird. He doesn’t seem to care if the rooms are too small, just as long as the decor is good, when he should be caring about the opposite. The decor can be changed, room sizes cannot.
  8. My nan has a tortoise, who I’m yet to meet. I think it’s really cool that she has a tortoise, and I really want to meet Flossy, the tortoise, but I haven’t had the opportunity yet!
  9. I’m a descendant of Dr. Livingstone, famous explorer. If you don’t know who he is, look him up. He has a massive Wikipedia page. Although I’m a descendant of him, I have never met my granddad, who would have more information on it, because he left the picture shortly after my mum was born. I’d like to know more about where I come from, but it’s cool to know that I’m a descendant of Dr. Livingstone!
  10. I get upset when people crush spiders. I hate unnatural deaths. People get confused by the fact that I’m alright with spiders webbing and eating flies, but that I’m sad if someone swats a fly. That’s because one is unnatural, and unnecessary, and the other is a means of survival. I just hate it when creatures die when they don’t have to.
  11. I’ve started watching Game Of Thrones. People have been onto me for a while about this, so some weeks ago, I started watching it. I’m on series three at the moment, a few episodes in. No spoilers, despite the fact they are literally all over the internet!

Questions From ANewChapter

  1. If you could learn any language, what would it be?
To be honest, it would be German, because I’ve always wanted to become fluent in it. Mostly due to my heritage from my dad’s side. I just wanna experience a culture from where I sorta came! Also, I love the Germans in the modern age. Their culture is wonderful!
  2. Imagine you won the lottery and won £1000 (or equivalent), what would you do with that money?
Only £1000? Geez, I entered the lottery to win a million! xD No, it’s a great amount. I would most likely, in my current situation, save it until we moved house and use it to do up the new house, so that my parents wouldn’t need to put so much money into renovation. Our renovation may cost more than a grand, but it’s a nice bit less for them to put into it.
  3. Would you say you’re introverted or extroverted?
Introverted. I mean, unless you count spending all my time in my room, never socialising, being pretty damn depressed, but having no friends to hang with, as extroverted… I sound so cynical today.
  4. What do you think is your biggest strength?
My morals, actually. So many people know the truth, but they love meat/dairy too much to give it up. I’m just saying that I think it’s quite a big decision to be able to say no to all that, but I managed to do it, because I care so much about those other creatures. I wish other people had my eyes, but they don’t.
  5. If you were the President for a day, what would you do?
Thank the world that Trump is no longer president! I would also make the US more like Canada (i.e. get dairy out of the nutrition guidelines, and cut down on dairy farming) because Canada is great.
  6. If you could be any fictional character, who would you be?
Interesting question! Who would I be? Perhaps Dory, from Finding Nemo, because forgetting most stuff is quite a refreshing change to remembering every little thing, and going over it again and again.
  7. What makes you calm after a difficult day?
Not much, to be honest. My anxiety can ponder over the day for hours. But, sometimes, writing a poem helps.
  8. Tea or coffee?
Neither. But coffee smells nicer, generally. I’ve never drunken either though; I prefer soft, cold drinks.
  9. What is your favourite colour and why?
Purple because it’s purple and purple is nice… because purple.
  10. Do you believe in superstitions?
Actually, the whole black cat is unlucky thing, is so untrue. It’s the opposite, in fact. I used to have a black cat, Gromit, and he was the most lucky thing I ever had. But I believe the superstition might have been wrong; that black cats were lucky instead, because even after he died, I sensed that he was around, protecting me from unlucky situations. So, maybe, in a sense, I do, but I think they’re all Chinese whispers. Maybe you should try walking under a ladder! It might just bring you luck.
  11. What do you think happiness means?
To me, happiness is about making others happy. Doing as they want, and making them smile. I don’t really know what it means for me, because I can’t remember the last time I was truly happy, but that’s alright. I just want others to be happy.

Questions to Me

If you were a colour, which colour would be and why?

I think I would be purple; not just because it’s my favourite colour, but because there’s not many things you think of that are purple. There are some things (lavender and violets) but they are in a different shade; what can you think of that is really purple? Because there is hardly anything to compare the colour to, it means that it can be whatever your mind plays up. It is different and set out from the other colours — most of which have boxes that they fit into, but purple doesn’t. It doesn’t fit into a box; it does its own thing, and I like that about it.

Imagine you can time travel, would go to the future or to the past?

That’s a hard one. Going to the past would be fun because I could tell people the future and then they’d be amazed when it happened. I could also win the lottery. But going to the future would also be interesting, as I’d be able to see whether humanity ever redeems itself or whether we destroy ourselves. A bit dark, but it’d be interesting to see. I think I’d rather go to the past as I’m not exploring unknown territory; therefore, I can fit in quite easily, whereas if I go into the future, I might come off a bit weird.

Which song best describes you/your emotions?

Right now, I’m thinking Numb by Linking Park. The lyrics are about pressure from someone and becoming numb to what they are subjected to; and everything is a mistake to this other person. I feel this way a lot, like to someone in my life, everything I do is a mistake. I try to please him but I can’t because his expectations are beyond reality. I’ve gotten used to it so I guess I’m numb now. And, as the lyrics say, I would rather be more like me and less like him. I would rather be who I want to be, but I don’t think I can be.

If you could have any eye colour, what would you choose?

Any eye colour? Although I love having blue eyes, I would quite like to have Elizabeth Taylor-esque eyes; violet. They’re so beautiful yet gentle. I think they’d be really nice to have.

Would you rather read people’s minds or be invisible?

I already am invisible (hahaha) so I think definitely reading people’s minds. I would love to know exactly what someone thought of me, because so many people are polite and not knowing what people think of me triggers my anxiety. To know would be to accept.

If you could have dinner with any TV show/book/film character, who would it be?

I don’t really know. Uhhh… Helena from Orphan Black! Because she loves food so would just wolf it down and then she’d call me her sistra and we’d just be cool friends and she’d kill people for me.

Did a historical event happen on your birthday? (doesn’t have to be the year you were born)

I just looked it up and a lot of sad stuff happened on that day. But I’m only going to be talking about positive stuff! 27 May 1943, the ballpoint pen was patented!! Isn’t that cool? 27 May 1937, The Golden Gate Bridge is opened to pedestrian traffic and more than 200,000 pedestrians walked across it! 27 May 1950, Frank Sinatra makes his TV debut on NBC’s “star-spangled review”. A lot of bad stuff happened too but let’s just think of the good stuff!

My Nominees:

I’m really bad at nominating people, especially when they’ve already been nominated, so apologies if you’ve already been nominated (which you probably have been) but I just need to nominate someone, and new questions!

My Questions

Has anyone ever inspired you to change your life?
Do you believe in superstitions? (If so, which ones?)
Antique or modern?
Paintbrush, pen, or microphone? Which would you pick, and why?
Which of the seven sins best describes you?
If you were told that the world is going to end in a week, what would you do?
Strangest thing that has ever happened to you?

The “What do I think about Art” Tag

Rules:

  • Copy the piece of art given to you by your nominator into the post, as well as these rules
  • Analyse the piece of art given to you and what it means to you (you can be as abstract as you like)
  • Nominate 5 people to analyse another piece of art of your choice
    Art given to me:

I like the fact that you can see the painter for a size comparison. I’m guessing it must be some kind of sculpture because of the way it goes in front of her legs, if it’s not a real person, because it looks so realistic. Like a person just being painted blue. I can’t tell what it is! Help! This is so confusing.

I think that the entire piece being painted in different shades of blue creates a cold and unwelcoming atmosphere, and the man’s facial expression doesn’t help that to subside. He looks almost threatening, or like he’s concentrating on something. He’s definitely not a source of positive energy. The way he puts his arms down is very exact too, as if he’s working something out. He’s sitting in a chair, which is ultimately a source of comfort, but everything else suggests an entirely different feeling, which makes me think that the chair is showing humanity in a man that otherwise looks quite cruel. The darker shades of blue also encompass the feeling of warmth because darker colours in general suggest a warmer and more cosy mood.

The room he’s in is, perhaps, a suggestion of the walls he puts up around himself. They are lighter shades, suggesting he puts up a cold and heartless shell. The chair is his inner self, the self that he can’t quite get out, and he might not be able to get it out until he learns to embrace it, but judging from the look on his face, I’d say that is far, far away.

Thewalkofthoughts – I know you’re already tagged but you said I could tag you again so :p

and basically anyone else who wants to do it!! Please do it. Cool, thanks. 😛

The piece of art I chose for you to analyse:

1978525_1596333637253502_3365766152935828905_o

This is by my mum, Sally Jane Payne. Look her up on Facebook (Sally Jane Payne Art) or instagram (@sallyjanepayneart) because she’s awesome and I love her art. It might be a bit of self-family-promotion but I think it could be analysed very awesomely.

Thank you 🙂

The Sunshine Blogger Award

I have already done this before, but as the person who nominated me for this award, TheWalkOfThoughts, is someone new to blogging, and also a friend of mine, I thought I’d do it again, for them. 😉

Why I Love Me Tag

This award was created by ThoughtfulTash and I was nominated by Em. Thanks for the nomination, though it’s going to be hard to do. 😛

THE RULES (as stated in Tash’s post)

  • Post the award on your blog
  • Acknowledge the blogger who nominated you
  • Leave a link to the original tag creator (ThoughtfulTash) to get a bit more info about WHY this tag has been made!
  • Write 10 things you love about YOURSELF and WHY
  • Nominate at least 5 other bloggers
  • In the comments of the blog post, spread more self-love with compliments to each other! THE MORE LOVE THE BETTER!

Why I love me:

1. I’m sensitive. I mean, this can be both a negative and a good thing, to be honest. I get overly offended by stuff but it also means that I can be more empathetic with people. When I say that I feel bad for you, or hope that something changes for you, I usually mean it — and I’m not saying it out of pity. I’m saying it because I’m empathising with you. I actually have this weird thing that, whenever someone else is in pain, I can kinda feel it too. Sometimes, I’ll even yell “ow!” when someone else gets hurt. xD

2. I care. When I say I care, I’m talking about something different to being sensitive. It’s to do with my veganism. Today, when me and my mum were having a conversation about leather, I actually started crying because so many cars have leather seats and I can’t really escape it. I can’t escape the money scandal either. I’m just a really passionate person and this makes me feel really angry and sad.

3. My family. I mean, they’re pretty awesome, and they’re a part of me, so… 😀 But really, I love them a ton, and they made me the person I am today. Obviously they didn’t want me to go vegan, but when I decided to, they supported me every step of the way. And through all my mental health issues, they’ve been the ones always here, even if they don’t understand all of what I do.

4. My hair. Whilst it is extremely long (and I’m getting it cut very short soon!), it is also very thick (and hard to brush). It means that I always have volume without hairspray, and that I have enough hair to do whatever I want to it. I’ve only dyed it once (without bleach) so it is currently the natural colour of my hair, which is also quite a nice shade, I think. It’s still blonde but more golden than sunny.

5. My pets. They also make up me so, without them, I’d be lost. Today, I’ve had two cats on my bed for the majority of the day. It was nice.

6. My need for perfection. Whilst this too can be seen as a bad thing, and not many people know that I am a bit of a perfectionist, it also helps a lot with my writing. I used to not hand in homework because it wasn’t good enough, at one stage, so it has been very challenging, but it does help with improving my writing skills.

7. My creativity! The reason I write is because I have a body full of creative energy that needs to leak out. My mum uses art; I use writing. It can be hard to want to do a career that isn’t solid — but my parents support my dreams, and they know that normal jobs are a struggle for me.

8. My super-hearing. I have quite a lot of heightened senses, actually (I can’t be in same area as my mum when she drinks tea, I have to wear sunglasses even in Winter, etc) but my heightened sense of hearing is the only one which can help me with some things. Whilst it can disturb my sleep too, I can also hear secret conversations, like a ninja. Although, most of the time, they’ll never know I heard, and I’ll just carry around as usual… on the floor above them.

9. My sense of style. Because it’s my own style, and I’m not conforming to what other people tell me to wear. It’s comfortable and I think it looks nice too (black and white theme generally) and it isn’t forced upon me. That’s why I like it.

 10. My room. It’s so big!

I realise not all of these might have been explicitly about me but I tried. Also, I try not to say too many nice things about myself in fear that I’ll be thought arrogant because that is definitely one thing I am not! haha…

I nominate A New Chapter mainly as I feel this is her thing (all her blog posts are so positive — minus the latest one, but let’s ignore that one…) but I also nominate everyone who needs a little motivation and self-love. ❤

My Reading Preferences | ‘Would You Rather’ Book Tag

Firstly, thank you Rebekah for tagging me for this. 😀

  1. Read only series or stand alone? I find that, when I get really into a book, and then suddenly it’s over, I’d love there to be a sequel (though sometimes it ruins the whole thing!) but I do mostly read stand-alone books. I love series too though, like Uglies and Chaos Walking.
  2. Read only female or male authors?
My favourite authors are actually males, though I do like a lot of books written by females. In Uglies by Scott Westerfeld, he was a male writing but he got inside the mind of a female, and I think it worked wonderful. I don’t have a specific preference of gender, though my favourite authors just happen to be male.
  3. Shop at Barnes and Noble/Waterstones or Amazon?
I actually edited this question because, over here in the UK, our Barnes and Noble is Waterstones. So, I just added that on. Whilst I love the smell of books, and will quite happily go to Waterstones if I’m already out, sometimes Amazon is just so much more convenient. It’s just ready whenever you are. I do get books from Waterstones every once in a while, and that’s more instant, which is nice.
  4. All books become movies or TV shows?
I don’t really have a preference! TV shows are good sometimes because they last longer, I suppose? By that, I mean, you get the anticipation of each week’s episode. On the other hand, movies are lovely to just get some popcorn out and chill in front of.
  5. Read 5 pages per day or 5 books a week?
It used to be a book or two a week but now I’ve kinda not been reading for a while. I don’t know why, to be honest. Just haven’t been in a reading mood. Hopefully I will read more again soon.
  6. Be a professional reviewer or author?
Author, definitely. That’s been my dream since I was about eight. I mean, I’ve been writing my whole life, but I didn’t consider my career path until I was eight. At first, I thought it would be super easy. Just, you know, go publish a book. I know it’s a lot harder than that now. I’m not eight anymore. I’m not the best reviewer in the world; my reviews tend to be brief. I’d just love to be an author.
  7. Only read your top 20 favourite books over and over, or always read new ones? Whilst reading your favourite books again is a nice reminder, I think reading new books is a really nice thing to do and it definitely can help you find new authors or genres that you like.
  8. Be a librarian or a bookseller?
Maybe being a librarian? I think there are more books in libraries that can be about really random things and sometimes I just go to a library, pick out a random book, and just read it there and then. I mean, bookshops are lovely, but they aren’t as random with the books they have, in my experience. I don’t know. Random is cool. Also, at libraries, you’re allowed to read there, whereas you have to actually buy the books at bookstores.
  9. Only read your favourite genre or every genre but your favourite? Well, I don’t have a favourite genre. I just like any book that is good! I read all varieties of books, to be honest. I don’t even just stick with YA; I read adult books a lot too! My mum usually has some good suggestions for me. So, I suppose, then, I would go with every genre but my favourite, because I don’t have a favourite genre! Science-fiction is awesome, but so is realism, and they’re kinda at opposite ends of the scale.
  10. Only read physical books or e-books?
Physical books. I have tried reading e-books in the past, and I just can’t get into them! Plus, the smell of physical books is amazing.
I tag: My Mind Speaks Aloud and A New Chapter — and anyone else who wants to join in, feel free 😛

Thanks again to Rebekah, and thanks to everyone who’s read this! 🙂

The Recipe Of Me Tag

This tag was created by cakeandpoetry and I was nominated by leo.

The Rules:

  • Tag me as the creator
  • Tag 5 other people (i’m being nice ok). This means you can’t just say ‘i’m tired anyone do this’ (i’m looking at you leo)
  • Be a unicorn today because optimist yo
  • Give a method that you feel is the ‘recipe of you’.

So, how do you get one Lia?

  • Make sure the recipe is vegan, or it wouldn’t be Lia at all.
  • Start off by pouring a load of passion into a small bowl, so that it overflows. She isn’t very balanced.
  • Add a dash of insecurity. Wait, no, not a dash. A bit more. Just a little more… STOP! I SAID STOP! Why aren’t you stopping? Ugh, just pour it all in.
  • Sprinkle over anxiety… Stop. Stop. Again? Really? -_-
  • Add a dollop of social awkwardness and autism. A generous serving.
  • Make sure to mix in some ink.
  • Just a touch of sugar. She isn’t all bad.
  • Get rid of a little of the passion and replace it with determination.
  • Get some tiredness.
  • Finish it off by whisking in cat whiskers.
  • Make sure not to overcook it. Oh no, it’s raw. Leave it be.

And that is how you get one Lia. 🙂

I tag MyMindSpeaksAloud A New Chapter Rose because they all need to post more often.
